Hannah Montana: Body double confirmed
Gossip mag OK! posted an item yesterday claiming that pop star Miley Cyrus used a body double in concert. A clip posted on YouTube in December from user "cweez1978" claims to have captured the switch on a cellphone camera.
Cyrus runs off-stage at about the 2:26 mark, and re-emerges seconds later wearing sunglasses.

The Disney star recorded sellouts at virtually all the 49 shows she played in 2007, according to industry trade mag Pollstar, and finished among the year's top 20 highest-growing concerts. A label spokesperson for Cyrus provided a statement that confirms that Cyrus does briefly use a body double:
To help speed the transition from Hannah to Miley, there is a production element during the performance of "We Got the Party" incorporating a body double for Miley. After Hannah has completed the featured verse on the duet with the Jonas Brothers, a body double appears approximately 1 - 2 minutes prior to the end of the song in order to allow Miley to remove the Hannah wig and costume and transform into Miley for her solo set. Other than during this very brief transitional moment in the show, Miley performs live during the entirety of both the Hannah and Miley segments of the concert.
Quick take: Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus is all about spectacle. Her live show is divided into two parts, and is set up at a pace to mimic a sugar rush. While it may be distressing to some that one of today's biggest teen stars uses a body double at a concert, a sort of gleeful momentum is at the heart of Cyrus' success, and a body double is apparently preferable to any slow-down in the show. As it stands, pop spectacles of this sort are about as honest as "High School Musical" is real, and the revelation, which promoters do not go out of their way to conceal, doesn't do much to diminish Cyrus' entertainment factor.

personally i do not like hannah montanas music but i like miley cyrus i think she just needs to pick one insted of acting like she has a personality disorder. but i would go to one of her shows if i could afford it.

my daughter is 2 years old and loves her music, it isn't the first time that a famous person has used a double... I loved her dad when he was big and I love her as well... and so does my daughter... So everyone of you haters just needs to bug off... I am 22, and been to a lot of concerts and most have used a body double.

This is silly! Using a body double to distract the audience for a brief moment is a classic trick used by magicians all the time. No one complains about that! It's ENTERTAINMENT people. It's not like the body double performed a lengthy portion of the show.

This is NOT a big deal. I took my 7 yr old daughter to the concert a month ago. I thought the transitions were amazing considering ALL of the costume changes she made. This concert has a young fan base and I'm glad that they took that into consideration...not dragging out the transitions or having an intermission. Miley did an EXCELLENT job of entertaining us...which is what I paid for! Oh and for those who now think she lip syncs the entire concert: I did in fact hear one note that made me cringe proving to me that she was singing her heart out.

If you've ever been to one of her concerts, the tempo is fast-paced. As a proud dad of a squealing 8 year-old girl in attendance, I could see that even a blip such as a costume change might've ruined the momentum. It would be unforgiveable if Cyrus lip-synced the entire concert, but this was a very quick two-minute costume exchange. There were certainly no milli vanilli antics involved (dad dates self) .

Big deal. From all accounts she used a double long enough to do a costume change. I think for a kid of her age, she handling this instant fame & the pressure that goes along with it with a maturity most adults could use a dose of.

I think Miley did it for a good perpose. So what if there is a body double? maybe it takes her a long time to get changed? I don't think America sould be on her case, so don't even try.
It's not like she offended the world in one humongus speech. She was just trying to keep her fans happy not annoyed that she has to change in the concert.

Um...for you people who are freaking out and disappointed and to the person who said it was a scam not a concert...GET OVER IT! The double is on stage for less than 2 minutes! I am sure the concert is WAY longer than that, and the rest of the time Miley is singing, either as herself or Hannah. Seriously, would you rather sit in your seats for 2 minutes with no singing? If Miley did have a 2 minute intermission in order to do her costume change, everyone would be freaking out about THAT. People can't find anything seriously wrong with Miley so they have to grasp at straws, sad...very sad.

I think it's ridiculus for people to make such a big deal over something like this. I could understand if it were the whole show but it was 1-2 MINS get over it people!! I took my 7 yr old to a Hannah concert and feel it was money well spent My daughter had a blast and I think Miley/Hannah did a great job!

my 8 yr old daughter loves hannah montannah and would love to see her come to the uk for a concert,m if she did I would take her like a shot she is a very talented tyoung girl and so what if she uses a body double if anyone takes a nasty jibe about it then its pure jealousy lets see any adult have to cope with such fame at such a young age I thinkshe is brilliant; Leav her alone she has done nothing wrong

This sort of "act" is very common in concerts or performances. It's not big deal. It's two minutes or less. Sure some people might noticed, but for the most part, it's not noticeable probably because people are too excited to be at the concert.
Everyone who hates Miley Cyrus and calls her a liar and the such are probably jealous of her and think they're better than her.
Just bugger off and leave Miley alone.
