Golden Globes: Who will win best song? And who was robbed?
The Golden Globes' press conference/sort-of news show thing is set for Sunday, and look for the music from "Once" to score its second win in seven days; the "Once" duo of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, a.k.a. Swell Season, recently took the win at the Critics' Choice Awards.
Oh wait -- "Falling Slowly" from "Once" wasn't nominated for a Globe, meaning the most deserving movie song of the year will have to wait till Oscar.
So who will take home the Globe? Will it be the parody rock of "Walk Hard," or the elegant Spanish folk of Shakira's "Despedida" (watch her perform the song on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" from earlier this week, in case you missed it)?
Or can the surprise nomination of "Grace is Gone" steal a win from what's likely considered the popular favorite, Eddie Vedder's "Guaranteed?" And how taken were Hollywood Foreign Press voters by the enjoyably cute Disney throwback, "Enchanted"?
Last year's winner was Prince's "Happy Feet" number, "The Song of the Heart," and 2006 saw the award go to Gustavo Santaolalla's "A Love That Will Never Grow Old." Going back to 2005, the Globe went to "Old Habits Die Hard" from "Alfie," by Mick Jagger and Dave Stewart.
Pattern? Hard to tell.
There seems to be a slight penchant for more restrained, graceful numbers from artists with a large international fan base. The best guess -- and most deserving of this year's nominated bunch -- is Shakira's "Despedida," its enrapturing finger-picking slowly rising with the tension in Shakira's vocals.

And now, who was robbed?
As mentioned above, it's a shame "Once" wasn't included -- and a bit of a shock. But there was plenty of great film music released in 2007. What was your favorite song that wasn't recognized?

None of these people were 'robbed'. The REAL song that was robbed was 'Little Wonders' by Rob Thomas from 'Meet the Robinsons'. That was the best song from a movie this year and maybe from the last 5 years.

Hmmmm, SHAKIRA should win, She deserves this so much,
The others are done by singers and people who support coal and non re-useable power supply and they do not have a school system set up for people in their chosen country, now do they. and i have done my research.
