Charlie Sheen fired from 'Two and a Half Men'

TWOHALFMEN

Warner Bros. has fired Charlie Sheen from the hit CBS show "Two and a Half Men."

The move comes after several weeks of very public battling between the actor and CBS, Warner Bros. and "Two and a Half Men" co-creator Chuck Lorre.

In a statement, the studio said, “After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on 'Two and a Half Men' effective immediately.”

Production on the show was stopped in late January after top executives from CBS and Warner Bros. confronted Sheen about his private life. Sheen has made no secret of embracing a sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle. Messy divorces, accusations of violence toward women and trips to rehab have been staples of his life for over two decades.

None of his personal life seemed to have any impact on his career. He is the highest paid actor in television, with a salary that reaches $2 million per episode when his portion of rerun money is included. Although production was also shut down last year because of Sheen's personal issues, CBS and Warner Bros. never publicly came out against that star.

That all changed last month when Sheen suddenly became very critical of Lorre, Warner Bros. and CBS. He made fun of Lorre, and CBS and Warner Bros. announced they were suspending production of the show for the rest of the season.

Sheen then retained Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer, who threatened to sue Warner Bros. if Sheen was not paid for the rest of his contract, which runs through next season.

Warner Bros. and CBS did not say if they would try to keep the show alive without Sheen. The deal CBS has for the program runs through next season and costs about $4 million per episode.

Has it occurred to ANYONE that this guy has lost it? That he is around the bend? That he is completely wacko - as in needs to be in a locked psychiatric ward for a very very long time?

Supposed you co-worker or neighbor started going around saying:

"You can't process me with a normal brain."

, "I am on a drug. It's called [me]. It's not available, because if you try it once, you will die and your children will weep over your exploded body. Too much?"

"They picked a fight with a warlock," (meaning the speaker is the "warlock" geezzzz......)

. People that don't have tiger blood, you know, Adonis DNA."

"I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension"

and the very incoherent "They continue to be in breach, like so many whales"

Ummm.... contracts are broken or ignored by a party to them. The person breaking the contract does NOT leap out of the water like a whale breaching....

Rambling, disjointed, grandiose fantasies (Adonis DNA) and an imaginary world (tiger blood, people exploding, warlocks).........

Anyone else speaking in this manner - and with a long history of drug abuse and violence - would be hustled into the ambulance and taken away to a locked ward and force fed anti-psychotic medication!!

The fact that his father is an outstanding and well-known actor; that he, the son, is a reasonably competent one; and that he is very wealthy does NOT MAKE him any less nutty!

Wealth and power do not equal sanity - look at Howard Hughes whose obsessive behavior made him retreat to a locked room, sit naked watching movies and not bathe nor cut his hair or nails while using huge quantities of pain medication.

The media really should stop quoting his rambling nonsense - someone in his state simply feeds of the attention and slips more into their own alternative universe.

wow, well, it was NOT a good show anyways.
can we PLEASE stop sitcoms now?

He is a gigantic bore.

Chuck Lorre, CBS and Warner Bros. should agree to broadcast a series finale TWO AND A HALF MEN episode this season featuring Charlie Harper's squalid death highlighted by a CHARADE funeral service homage, sending Charlie to an everlasting purgatory of all talking-all singing-all dancing-all the time recreational Elizabeth Clare Prophet televangelism marathon.

Another classic crash and burn from a nimrod who can't wash or iron his own clothes.

What Charlie never seems to take into consideration is that he is just playing himself...This show is my favorite because of the great dialog and terrific characters that were not written by him...but by this man he is so quick to criticize...what would we do without crazy Rose and the great Mother of all Mothers, Evelyn....Charlie could, actually, mail in his performance...he isn't acting.

Big mistake. He's the talk of the town. Good or bad, you need him to keep everyone's paychecks coming!!!

Sheen needs $2 million per episode just to support his hard-core life-style. Maybe without an pipeline of cash he'll clean up. Doubt it however. CBS and Warner Brothers would be just enabling him if they gave in to his demands. Sheen does not believe he is expendable and can be replaced. In two months he will not even be remembered. Man thinks he is a demi-god. What a fool!

At least they finally utilized the morals clause that was included in Charlie's last contract.

They should have taken advantage of that ages ago, but that would have made more sense, I guess.

Ted McGinly, your phone is ringing.

Living Suzanne Somers all over again. You want more then you are worth....
Kill off the character-DUI and have a will saying someone else moves in his place...

he's a 2011 version of norman maine from "a star is born"...

Good riddance! Glad to see that someone in Hollywood won't tolerate these spoiled actors that seem to hold the arrogant mentality that the shows they work on can't survive without them.

Possible Sheen replacements:

-Lindsay Lohan
-Mel Gibson
-David Hasselhoff
-Any participant on Celebrity Rehab

Like a G6... winning!

There's one person who could replace him: Carlos Estevez.

Party on Charlie! Don't let the "Suits" get you down! You're my hero!

Good.

Wait a sec! Charlie Sheen got fired!? What happened? I haven't heard anything about the guy lately! I hope he's OK, and not completely out of his mind.

OK, everyone in LA is invited to Charlies tonight. Free nose candy, cars for porn stars, rolling Rolls' down the hills, Benz bashing and Adonis DNA exchanges.

Goodbye Charlie, hello John Stamos!

Easy storyline - Charlie had plastic surgery once, he can have it again... come back younger, healthier and better looking...

Nothing like detoxing on TV. There is a reason people go into rehab for 30, 60 or 90 days, so when they come out they're back to their normal selves.

The last thing Charlie Sheen needs is a psychiatrist. That'll just mess him up worse!

I NEVER MET THE MAN, BUT I UNDERSTAND THAT HE AND HIS FAMILY ARE WELL LIKED IN TINSELTOWN. IT'S SO DIFFICULT TO BE A GOOD ACTOR, TO CONVINCINGLY PRETEND TO BE SOMETHING THAT YOU MAY NOT BE AT ALL. THE COMPETITION TO WORK IN HOLLYWOOD IN THE MOVIES MUST BE MIND BENDING. MR.SHEEN SOUNDS LIKE A NUT JOB...

"CBS and Warner Bros. never publicly came out against that star [Sheen]."

Of course not, he was making bundles of money for the network!

"That all changed last month when Sheen suddenly became very critical of Lorre, Warner Bros. and CBS. He made fun of Lorre, and CBS and Warner Bros. announced they were suspending production of the show for the rest of the season."

I guess Lorre's feelings got hurt...nothing was said when Sheen abused his wife, but holy moses, when he was critical of Lorre, all hell broke loose!

Let's get real, the "Two and a Half Men" show was all about sexual innuendos and drugs...so why the 'holier than thou' attitude now that Lorre's feelings were hurt. The show was top rated for a reason....all the actors had a crucial part in making the show a success and one cannot do without the other. Sheen is irreplaceable in his role in the show, but he should seek help for issues in his private life...I do love him and wish him well.
