CBS Television Distribution, the syndication unit of CBS Corp. that distributes daytime hits ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show,’ ‘Dr. Phil’ and ‘Judge Judy’ as well as long-running game shows ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and ‘Jeopardy,’ laid off some staffers.

About a dozen people were let go in the research, accounting and finance departments, people familiar with the matter said. CBS Distribution has a staff of approximately 300 people.

The moves are part of a slow consolidation of the old Paramount syndication unit and King World into CBS Distribution.

On Thursday, CBS released its third quarter results and posted a profit of $317.3 million.
