'Takers' pulls ahead of 'Last Exorcism' in final box-office count
It was a photo finish at the top of the box-office chart this weekend, as final numbers showed that heist film "Takers" pulled in just slightly more money than horror movie "The Last Exorcism."
With full box-office receipts for Sunday now in, Sony Pictures reported that "Takers" generated $20.5 million on its opening weekend. Lionsgate's "The Last Exorcism," meanwhile, ended up with $20.4 million.
On Sunday morning, Lionsgate estimated that "The Last Exorcism" would make $21.3 million for the weekend. Sony estimated $21 million for "Takers."
It's common that Sunday estimates are off by a small amount, but unusual that two movies are so close in popularity that final box-office numbers change the ranking of the top two releases.

I'm glad Takers took the #1 spot, its a great movie worth watching. Everyone should go see it, great action packed film. The Last Exorcism was a joke, definitely not worth my time.

I HAVEN'T BEEN TO A MOVIE IN 30YEARS BUT WENT TO GO SEE CHRIS BROWN AND HE WERE AMAZING AND ALL OF THE CAST WERE GREAT MATT WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT MATT MATT ALWAYS DO HIM GOOD ACTOR BUT BREEZY THE RUNNING I WERE SCREAMING FOR THE BAD GUYS TO GETAWAY TAKERS IS #1

I think it's awesome though how the Last Exorcism was made with barely over a million dollars.

Takers definitely left me feeling under-stimulated. I was expecting a real smooth gangsta movie like Dick Tracey but instead I got the weak male version of Set It Off. T.I. was all wrong for the role. His acting was over the top and he was just too hood for this movie. The end of the movie leaves you feeling like "damn, thats it?". This film was overated
