[Updated] Rosie O'Donnell wants back into daytime
Former daytime talk show star Rosie O'Donnell is looking to make a comeback and has tapped two former Warner Bros. syndication executives to lead her effort.
Dick Robertson, the former head of syndication of Warner Bros. Television, and Scott Carlin, who worked with Robertson there for years, have sealed a deal to distribute O'Donnell's new talk show, which will probably premiere in fall 2011. Robertson and Carlin worked closely with O'Donnell on her first talk show, which was made by Warner Bros. The news was reported by Showbiz 411.
O'Donnnell's new show will probably have more of a political feel to it than her last effort. O'Donnell has become quite outspoken over the last several years. Producer Rory Kennedy, the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy, is on board to executive produce, a person familiar with the project said. Updated Monday: Rory Kennedy is a leading candidate but no producer has been named.
Although Oprah Winfrey's departure in 2011 will leave a hole in the talk-show marketplace, O'Donnell will still face challenges, as her outspoken style may be polarizing to some TV stations.
The show may be distributed on cable as well.

Ugh.....do we really need one more, already-had-her-turn-at-bat, obnoxious voice in the wasteland that is daytime television?

"Although Oprah Winfrey's departure in 2011 will leave a hole in the talk-show marketplace, O'Donnell will still face challenges, as her outspoken style may be polarizing to some TV stations. "
This might be the single most understated sentence ever posted here.

She destroyed her fan base by pretending to be straight-laced, as well as straight, then coming out of the closet right before walking away from a successful show. Now she is just a has-been, and this new show will fold quicker than her magazine did.

Rosie's show will sour TV and doom that station.

That's just what we need...crazy Rosie having a political feel show. This woman is so full of hate and down right nasty.

Does this 9/11 Conspiracy Theorist REALLY think America WANTS to see her back on Daytime TV?
She FAILED miserably in her previous two attempts.
Rosie - stay away.
We like it better that way.

Can't wait for her to return to TV. We have a pool going on. I have my money on three weeks before cancellation. She was never relevant and her "come back" is even less so.

Let me get this straight. After her disgusting commentary on 'The View' and her continued loathing of everybody who isn't just like her, on her blog, Rosie thinks she will be the next Oprah? Not this time. She has cashed in all of the goodwill available to her forever.
One to remember: mocking Asians by pulling her eyes sideways and saying "ching, chong, chung". The woman is awful.

Rosie's documentary on families (A Family Is A Family Is A Family) was utterly beautiful. My hope is that the love wins over the hate..

Rosie may speak her truth, but what about all the kids she sent to college, all the $ donations? There is alot of good in that lady.
I hope to see her back on. I thinks she is laugh out loud!

Hey, I hate everybody who doesn't agree with me either, can I get a TV show?????? I'm cuter, too!

What fool would fund this demented womans projects ?? We have spent the last few years trying to get her mean spirited comments to go away like her last TV show but like a bad penny she keeps coming back.I hope you decent folk remember how she insulted and degraded middle america. If you cling to your bible and your gun Rosie and Obama think you are below contempt.

Barbara Walters and her posse proved that people will watch any brain-dead programing. Rosie is no more detrimental to America's couch bimbos than the hundreds of reality show that currently pollute our air waves. Can anyone name 10 shows that are really worth watching?
As for all those celebrity charities. Whether its Oprah's Angels , Ellen, Bonnie , or Rosie ( along with some major sponsor who gets both tax write off and subliminal advertising ) ..... in reality its the viewers who send in the cash that gets donated.
Give Rosie a chance, its can't be any worse than her variety show. Well , yes it can . On second thought . Don't bring her back. The country has enough problems with the economy and lack of leadership in Washington.

Rosie is very funny and has talent, but she needs a manager or somene to rein her in and show her how to express herself without coming across as a jerk. Right now she is a talented potential entertainer. The key word is potential. Unless she can redirect her energy into a postive force, she'll always come off as a jerk.

Ho Hum..................who cares? My other comment would be "fat chance" and I do mean fat!!

Here in Miami and most especially in Miami Beach, Rosie is a fixture and frequently seen around South Beach where she goes to vacation on Star Island. We love her, and wish she would be #1 again on daytime TV!
