Conan O'Brien sets dates for 'The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour'

Billing his live shows as "a night of music, comedy, hugging and the occasional awkward silence," displaced comedian Conan O'Brien on Thursday unveiled the dates of his 30-city springtime tour. Conan_tour_poster

O'Brien's first stop will be Eugene, Ore. And on April 24 he will appear at Universal Studios Hollywood, the home of his former home, NBC Universal, on the same lot as the $25-million studio that NBC built for him to host "The Tonight Show."

Of course we all know how that ended.

Interestingly, American Express has signed up to be the corporate sponsor of the tour.

O'Brien tweeted about his extravaganza, saying: "Hey, Internet: I'm headed to your town...."

“It was either a massive 30-city tour or start helping out around the house,”  O’Brien said in an announcement.

TheWrap's Joe Adalian broke the news this morning.

Yay!!! Conando Rules!!!
This is awesome news, made my day for sure :)

Once again, idiots will blow(waste) a bunch of coin on this drivel.

I'm supposed to care about a golden parachuted comedian going on tour? Presumably selling outrageously expensive tickets? If this guy had some real cajones he'd be starting his own cable channel based on his supposedly wonderful show. Bottom line? He isn't.

NOPE.................STICK WITH TV, CONAN............JACK IRISH

i miss conan doing donald trump more than...any reality show on t.v.

Pay for something that was free?
No thanks
There are too many other choices out there...

I am more than willing to pay to see Conan. I already got my tickets! It's gonna be great!

I'm just glad to see him do something, he's funny but not sure I would pay to see a version of his ex-show on-wheels,

Hey haters, the reason he is not on TV is that NBC was scared of the competition, and only agreed to take care of his staff if he agreed to stay off TV until September. Conan is funny, and you jokers are not.

He's gonna rock Seattle!!! and i'll be there!

Much better then Leno anyday!

Good for Conan O'Brien. I wish him my best wishes on the tour.

Conan who?

I would gladly pay money to see this man, especially since it means that all the proceeds of this tour go directly to the staffers employed for this venture. Yes, it's true -- Conan isn't seeing a dime of this tour.

As for his supposed "golden parachute", apparently he's sharing it. Andy Richter confirmed on 'Regis & Kelly' that Conan formed a little corporation to keep his displaced staffers paid during this downtime from TV.

Tickets are all sold out :(

I just don't get it. Conan quits instead of moves and receives millions of dollars and most of his staff are out of work and they blame Jay Leno.
Questions:
Haven't networks always moved shows around?
What makes Conan so special he doesn't have to move, like everyone else and still gets to play the victim?
What kind of koolaid did his staff drink to go along with all of this?
Has anyone told all those unemployed staff that snarking the network doesn't make them look attractive to any other hiring entities? I think that's covered in Job Search 101.

He isn't coming to Florida. :( And what is with those dates, mostly all Monday and Tuesday nights? I would think that much of his fanbase would have to work the next day!
