Veteran NBC Universal Television executive Rick Olshansky is leaving the company as part of a small restructuring of its West Coast operations, according to people familiar with the situation.

Olshansky has been with NBC Universal for five years and most recently served as (get ready for lengthy title) executive vice president of NBC Universal Television Network and Studio Business Affairs. But with Jeff Gaspin now chairman of NBC Universal Entertainment, there has been some downsizing. Marc Graboff, chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media used to run business affairs and now will resume some of that work on top of his current duties.

Although the moves come on the eve of Comcast’s expected deal to take control of NBC Universal from General Electric, this shift would have happened regardless of a deal.

Separately, NBC Universal eliminated several positions as a result of its consolidation of the NBC Agency, its marketing and promotion unit.
