'Transformers' freezes out 'Ice Age' in updated box office tally

MeganFox Paramount's shape-changing robots eked out a victory over Fox's prehistoric creatures after all.

Revised studio estimates that include Sunday sales show "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" grossing $42.5 million on its second weekend, while "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" earned $41.6 million on its first.

Initial estimates Sunday morning had the films tied for No. 1 with $42.5 million in ticket sales in the U.S. and Canada.

"Ice Age," which opened Wednesday, still has a slight edge in the five-day gross, with $66.6 million compared to $64.9 million for "Transformers."
