What about Soundtrack Channel? its a channel in about 5 million homes in the US covering movies, entertainment news and movie music - that would seem to fit with what Peter Chernin is trying to build.

Meg,
I read your article in today's (Sunday May 9) Times. Apparently executive pay is evil. Is that correct?

In my opinion, your story should have focused upon successful media companies vrs unsucessful ones, rather than bloviate about them all. Successful companies have all the right to pay their execs well because they are doing well. In the old days most were publicly traded, which meant you as an exec, were accountable to your stockholders. Why do you think GE unloaded NBC? Murdoch is an intersting example, but a profitable one at that. He owns the company, takes all the risk, therefore is entitled to the profits. What is wrong with that ? Your arguements are shallow as NBC, CBS, and ABC are aloat in debt and low ratings. As far as Dreamworks goes, what kind of bottom line did they produce vrs the "network" guys this last year?

Be careful of your venom against the "big pay dough boys" after all that is where you make your life reporting upon them. You need that industry to survive.
