'Twilight' Countdown: Robert Pattinson and his vampire pals

20 days left...

As promised, here is the early edition of the paper's Sunday story on "Twilight." Times writer Gina McIntyre spent a sunny afternoon -- read: scorching hot at 100 degrees F -- with the actors who play three Cullen sibs: Robert Pattinson (Edward), Kellan Lutz (Emmett) and Nikki Reed (Rosalie).

She learned about Robert's "embarrassing" on-set injury...

For the movie's action sequences, the actors experimented with stunts and wire work, which Pattinson admits did not play to his strengths. "I got injured on the first shot of the first day," he said. "I wasn't even doing a stunt. I was just trying to pick up Kristen and I almost tore my hamstring because I hadn't been doing enough squats. It was very embarrassing."

...and what the boys did to wind down...

"When we did have those hard days," added Lutz, 23, "we would go back to Rob's room. He had a couple of guitars in there and a lot of great music. It was really fun being able to relax and have the cast come together, having that time just to bond and not really be actors but friends."

And I have more good news! I just confirmed that I will be talking to RPattz himself Election Day  Tuesday. I'd like to devote that Q&A strictly to the best questions I get from you guys, the fans. I won't be able to ask every single one submitted, but rest assured I'll select a most representative bunch. Once again, fire away!

Also, don't forget to check back in tomorrow to find out who won last Saturday's Caption This contest, and to participate in the next.

Rob: in what way are you most like Edward and how do your characters differ?

Rob, do you like having your hair that long? Just kind of a side question. Thisis my real question: With you and Kristen doing such wonderful scenes that involve physical and "sensual" activity, is a real attraction there? Or as an actor, do you just lose yourself in the moment as Edward, and when its all done Rob is not effected at all? How does that work?

Edward is a truly unforgettable character. At the end of what I hope will be a very long life and acting career what would you like people to remember about you?

Does Edward Cullen still have his "special abilities" in the Twilight movie?

Thanksgiving is coming up, and I was wondering how he plans to spend the American holiday.

So, this question is ENTIRELY different from all the others, but I thought I'd try it out. Since I'm a current music major, studying instrumental performance and composition, I've been impressed with the level of intricate chord progressions and melodies supplied in his songs/compositions. My question for Rob would be to ask him if he has had any musical training (music theory courses and the like), which might provide the background for all of his compositions. If not, then what is the process he goes through when composing a song? I'm getting the sense that he can just sit down and "plunk" something out, versus going through the tedious process most music majors are taught. And, a comment to add... Rob seems like such a well-rounded, down-to-earth person. It is something that is most definitely appreciated, and kudos to him for staying true!

I'm really excited about seeing Little Ashes, everything I've heard so far has been great! I was wondering about how you prepared for the role of Dali and in what ways you felt connected to the character?

Thank you so much,

This is my question for Rob. What made you want to play the role of Edward Cullen? Was there something that caught your eye about the character? Also, how did you prepare yourself for the role? I can't wait to see the movie! :)

I've been listening to a pod cast you did today with fansites and you mentioned you had a lot of ambition and that in essence keeps you grounded. I was happy to hear this because I really want you to get the roles you want and you will need drive and determination to get them. How have you demonstrated this increased level of ambition. Have you for instance been fighting harder for roles?

We (TwilightersAnonymous.com) got the opportunity to ask Robert Pattinson a question today. Unfortunately we were limited to one and we had several we wanted to hear the answer to. Here are a few of our "outtakes" that we'd still love to know:

1. Which scene in Twilight was the most emotionally taxing for you to film? Is there a specific scene that you most look forward to bringing to life in future films?

2. What did you learn from working with Catherine Hardwicke? Did you have any clashing views as to how the character of Edward should be portrayed?

Do you still have the neck brace from the admonishment to admiration whiplash the fans gave you after being cast as Edward?

Serious question. Are you ever going to record any of your songs for an ep or lp? Or are you nervous because of how personal songs can be? As in It isn't you portraying someone else, which can be easier than putting yourself out there for rejection, it is you being yourself and speaking your inner most thoughts and feelings. Also is it therapeutic for you (help keep you sane)?

I just read the response Rob gave to this question:-
Q: What, if any, characteristics to you share with Edward?
A: I think, not that many, but I’d like to think I was quite humble, which I think he is. Another thing I was thinking of recently is his singularity, and his affections and how seriously he takes his emotions. If he doesn’t feel something 100% then he doesn’t trying to pretend to anyone that he does. I guess I’m kind of similar to him in that respect.
I found this to be a very interesting comment and wondered if you meant that you were the sort of guy who was a one man woman but that you had encountered women you wanted to date who were happy to two time...

This is probably too late, but could you ask if he needs a personal assistant?

At the Apple Q&A Rob said he identifies himself with the character John Self in the Martin Amis book 'Money'.

Money tells the story of, and is narrated by, John Self, a successful director of commercials who is invited to New York by Fielding Goodney, a film producer, in order to shoot his first film. Self is an archetypal hedonist and slob; he is usually drunk, an avid consumer of pornography and prostitutes, eats too much and, above all, spends too much, encouraged by Goodney.

Would Rob like to play that character in a film adaptation of the book.

Also as one of characters in the book is called Spunk Davis is that where the name Spunk came from?

This may have already been asked here, but Edward prefers brunettes...what about you? What's your "type" of girl?

Were you startruck when you first met Kristen or would you know if she's the same with you?
You and Kristen has this undeniable on and off-screen chemistry, did you two instantly click?
Are you friends who hang out and do things together?

Guinevere from the Philippines

what has got to be the most dificult scene you've done while filming twilight?

How was Rome?Do you like italian food?

Do you like Rome?Do you like italian food?

Please ask him this....
Robe, do you really sign your fanpost?

This has probably been asked in the past, but...here it goes:

- When playing the piano, what's your favorite song to play? Did you teach yourself how to play?

- There was a rumor that you were going to come down to FL, to appear in an anime con with other members of the 'Harry Potter' cast. Yet that didn't happen. Will you ever come down to FL in the future?

What is your favorite color?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CANT WAIT TO SEE YOUR MOVIE OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG LOL The question i have is for Robert and kristen. Do you guys have feelings for each other?if you don't how do you act so well??

1) Edwards orginal eye colour which was GREEN before he was turned into a vampire
2) BLACK/ONYX when the vampires are hungry
3) TOPAZ when the vampires have hunted
