Hmmm, interesting. Certainly not a negative review, but not exactly a "rave", as the headline would imply. Maybe I'm overanalyzing here (I hope so!), but Turan's positivity toward the movie definitely seems qualified.

If you listen to Turan's comments, he never said he liked the movie, but rather that those who already want to like it, will like it. In other words, it's for fans, not really for the general public.

In fact, he never mentions whether he felt the story was any good. He merely stated he liked the acting, and Spielbergs "professionalism," whatever that means. But at the end of the day, it is the story that will determine whether the movie is truly worthy.

Definitely a qualified thumbs up, but I hold out hope for the film!

SInce when does a movie review warrant a "breaking news" alert? Even local TV does not stoop that low.

Me thinks Kenneth doth demure too much. Or, is it just skull-duggery?

I'm sorry, but it is obvious that there are a lot of critics (and this guy is one of them) who are selling out. I was an Indian Jones fan...and then I saw this latest installment. Quite frankly, I get a sense that many of these critics are just trying to get these big name actors and directors to like them. They don't want to rock the boat and tell them that their movie bombed. Quite frankly, I resent being told that the fans of Indian Jones will like this movie. I know 20 Indy fans who have seen this movie and every one of them HATED it. This was just a George Lucas/Steven Spielberg attempt at making more money and quite frankly, I want my money back.

Some of us actually did enjoy it.
