Cannes '08: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt take no prisoners at 'Kung Fu Panda' premiere

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt drew hordes of spectators to DreamWorks Animation's "Kung Fu Panda" premiere, causing the streets of Cannes to overflow with fans and media outlets from around the woPanda_party_2rld on Thursday night.

Following a long photo call on the crimson steps of the Palais, during which Angelina and Brad accommodated photographers looking to shoot every imaginable angle of the couple and "Panda" leading man Jack Black, the cast disappeared into "Kung Fu Panda's" premiere screening.

After the premiere, the "Kung Fu Panda" cast and crew moseyed down the Croisette to a pier in front of the Carlton Hotel, where desperate throngs argued, lied, flirted and threatened gatekeepers in futile attempts to finagle their way into a resplendent after-party.

Inside, tables overflowed with dim sum, small plates of Asian tapas, made-to-order stir fry dishes and classic French pastries.

The colorful scene was lit from above by red Chinese paper lanterns and underscored with the pulsating beats of, what else, "Kung Fu Fighting."

Angelina and Brad camped out at a table overlooking the water, where they were feted like royalty by studio executives, agents, publicists and colleagues. Even warring Paramount honcho Brad Grey and DreamWorks Animation chief Jeffrey Katzenberg were seen sheathing their swords to embrace for a fleeting moment.

But once the Golden Couple and Jack Black called it quits for the evening, revelers moved on to their next party destinations. More than a few ended up on none other than the Budweiser Yacht, where the merrymaking conceivably slid downhill from there.
