>> Oil: Expensive. "The gravity-defying price of oil shot through another barrier Monday by briefly touching $103.95 a barrel in New York trading, the highest cost ever for black gold even after adjusting for inflation."
>> Joining California and other pissed-off states, unionized Environmental Protection Agency employees are showing their unhappiness with EPA Administrator Stephen L. >> Hypermilling: Get the best mileage out of the car you own. EcoTrekker's put together "The Ultimate Guide to Hypermiling: 100 Driving and Car Tips and Resources."
>> Bicycles: Some are greener than others. Take Sierra Club's "How Green Is My Bike" quiz. I only got 79 out of 100 points, but most of my answers were kind of speculative -- I haven't had a flat tire yet, for example.
>> De-car-ing: Now with its own 5-day conference. The 2008 conference, "Towards Carfree Cities VIII: Rethinking Mobility, Rediscovering Proximity," happens June 16-20 in Portland. (via Worldchanging)
>> Bamboo house: Deck out your entire home in bamboo. Apartment Therapy has lots of images of the Modular Bamboo House by Gau Design, from a bamboo tub to a bamboo waste basket.
