A.M. Greenlist: 'Green Porno' on the Sundance Channel
>> Crashing a ship full of oil can get you charged with a federal crime. Capt. John J. Cota was at the helm of the cargo ship that hit the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and spilled 58,000 gallons of fuel oil last November. He's now charged with criminal negligence and violating the Clean Water Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Capt. John J. Cota, 60, was charged in federal court in San Francisco with one count each of violating the Clean Water Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, both misdemeanors.
>> More trouble for the EPA. Now, a House committee's investigating "potential conflicts of interest in scientific panels that advise the Environmental Protection Agency." The House Energy and Commerce Committee says some of these scientists had ties to and/or got research support from the chemical industry on the same chemicals they were examining. (via grist)
