Carfree photographer Xtracycles everywhere
Many hardcore bikers have ditched their cars, but most don't need to bike as far as 35 miles with up to 200 pounds of heavy-duty camera equipment. One Russ Roca in Long Beach lugs everything in his Xtracycle; he's been carfree for 5 years, according to Green Daily.
Since he's dubbed himself the "Eco-Friendly Bicycling Photographer," I guess hauling everything by bike is part of the job description! The guy's even set an eco New Years' resolution: "In 2008, in addition to my continued bike commuting, I will donate %5 (sic) of all photoshoots to World Bike Relief, a company who gives mobility back to the people of developing countries."
You can check out his bicycling adventures -- and his photography work -- on his blog and his professional website.
