AM Greenlist: New victims -- albino penguins, state budgets, horses
>> Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's slashed budget proposal -- under which 48 state parks and beaches would fall victim -- has Steve Lopez of the L.A. Times calling for another governor recall. Hasta la vista, baby?
>> Another victim of global weirding: Horses are getting slaughtered since many areas are facing drought; there isn't enough food to go around.
>> Ethicurean urges you not to let raw milk fall victim to a sneaky change in the California’s Food and Agricultural Code.
>> More than 600 U.S. mayors have signed the U.S. Conference of Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, but many mayors have done little to meet its goal of reaching Kyoto Protocol targets. (via grist) Compared with Vista Mayor Morris Vance, who says he vaguely remembers signing it and hasn't done anything at all yet, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa at least has a plan of attack.
>> Albino penguin victimized! Actually, it's called a "leucistic" penguin because it has a little color. But the poor freak is getting bullied by the "normal" penguins. (via grist)
