Greenlist: Tailpipes

Pollution >> Cali can set its own tailpipe standards. A judge throws out automakers' suit against Cali's efforts to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from cars.

>> The California Air Resources Board will require all trucks to meet 2007 emission standards by 2014, an effort that mirrors a plan approved by the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The move'll ban much of the current fleet of diesel trucks from all ports statewide.

>> Another effort that cuts car emissions: UPS trucks are nixing left turns to cut back on idling. The result: A reduction of CO2 emissions by 31,000 metric ton.
