Greenlist: Less green than advertised
>> Bikes forbidden at "green" LADWP Holiday Light Festival. A lighting display that reads "DWP - Going Green" does not automatically make this festival green -- especially if attendees are forced to drive, rants LAist. Earlier: Mike of Franklin Avenue calls for a ban on cars at this festival.
>> Tapping annoyances with Metro's new TAP card. MetroRiderLA tries out the new "convenient" TAP card, finds it more cumbersome than the old Metro pass.
>> Divorce's nefarious effect on the environment. A study finds that divorced households spend 46% more per person on electricity than married ones. However, I don't see how divorce itself has much to do with this statistic -- going from having roommates to living solo, or moving out of the parents' house, would have similar effects.
>> 35 mpg minimum requirement for US cars gets a boost. House and Senate negotiators hash out an agreement on the car fuel-efficiency aspect of the energy bill. Key questions still remain though -- and afterwards, dubya has to not veto the thing.

35 mph or 35 mpg? Can't imagine many people going for the former, no matter how much gas they might save!
