Thursday, Dec.13
LACBC's Thursday Night Social ($5-$10) - Bike Oven, 3706 N. Figueroa St, Los Angeles. 7 pm. Join the LA County Bicycle Coalition for a special screening of "eat!sleep?bikes!" Director Sasha Edge, as well as the four cyclists who braved the Furnace Creek 508 on fixed gear bikes, will be at the event. There'll be a prize raffle, music from DJ Pig in a Blanket, snacks, and beer.
Hermosa Beach Green Drinks (free, pay for own drinks) -- Sangria, 68 Pier Ave., Hermosa Beach. 7 p.m. Green Drinks has no agenda or theme. The event is simply composed of the people who attend. All you have to do is show up ready to hang out and meet a few like-minded people over drinks.
"Plagues & Pleasures of the Salton Sea" screening ($5) - Echo Park Film Center, 1200 N. Alvarado St., Los Angeles. 8 pm. A screening of "Plagues & Pleasures of the Salton Sea" -- followed by a Q&A with the director Chris Metzler.

Eco Gift Expo ($10) - Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, 1855 Main St., Santa Monica. 9 am - 8 pm. Shop from among 150 companies offering all manner of eco-friendly gifts. There'll be an organic food court plus entertainment too.
Green Saturday at Eco-LA (free) - Eco-LogicalART, 4829 West Pico Blvd., Los Angeles. 10 am - 6 pm. This eco street fair will feature billboard art painting, youth eco-workshops, green vendors, tree giveaways, food, music, and more.

L.A. Eco-Village Tour ($10) -- L.A. Eco-Village, 117 Bimini Place, Los Angeles. 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Get the history and context of the village, a walk-through of the sustainable community, and learn about the problems and progress in the healthy development of an intentional community.
“Here, There and Everywhere” Launch Party (free) - Frank Pictures Gallery, Bergamot Station A-5, 2525 Michigan Ave, Santa Monica. 1 pm - 4 pm. Actor Adam Arkin, co-star of the NBC series "Life," will join actor Beau Bridges and hip hop artist Mystic with readings from the new parrot-welfare book at a “Launch Party for Kids and Grownups”
