Green Friday: Holiday showcase and extravaganza

Epoxy_2 There's so much green stuff happening this weekend that I'm splitting up green weekend by the day! Thus, green Thursday was here, and now here's green Friday, Dec. 7.

Greenopia Holiday Showcase (free): smart®house, 1319 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice. 11 am - 6:30 pm. Local green vendors will exhibit -- but not sell -- their goods at this 2-day showcase, put together by the local eco-directory Greenopia. Everyone's invited to come look and touch and sample while nibbling on raw food treats from Leaf Cuisine.

Reinventing L.A.: Nature and Community in the Global City (free): Farmlab, 1745 N. Spring St. Unit 4, Los Angeles. Noon. Join Robert Gottlieb (and likely some other folks from the Urban and Environmental Policy Institute) for this Farmlab Public Salon.

epOxybOx Holiday Extravaganza (free): epOxybOx Gallery, 602 Venice Blvd., Venice. 7 pm - 11 pm. An evening of music, snacks from Market Gourmet, wine and other beverages while you shop at this eco-friendly Venice store and gallery .

“LAyers in Motion” paint dance  (free): Eco-LogicalART, 4829 West Pico Blvd., Los Angeles. 7:30 pm. As part of “ReVisons,” a recycled billboard exhibit that officially premiers in mid-January, artist/dancer Caitlyn Carradine, and her troupe will perform “dances with paints” — in this case on a billboard. Then artist GENE will “live-paint” huge dynamic dancers over the memory paint trails of the just-created choreographic art of Carradine.
