A little older, a tad greener
I'm a year closer to death -- but dinner with friends at Ford's Filling Station was fun as usual, as was Green Drinks afterwards. Plus, I got some great eco-gifts to show for it!
Some of the green birthday presents I got last week, to give you ideas for your holiday shopping:
One-of-a-kind eco-earrings, made in Brooklyn from reclaimed tins and cans.
Red tenzo and coconut necklace from Rainforest Native, made of sustainable materials by fair trade co-ops.
Band of Sisters bracelet from World of Good, made of wood and copper beads by artisans in New Delhi.
Organic cotton cami and panties from bgreen. If the panties fit, wear them.
A cute Sigg bottle. Reusable, and doesn't leach toxins like plastic bottles do.
The other gifts, not so eco -- though I suppose a salad spinner could be said to reduce reliance on plastic-bagged pre-washed greens. Then there's my mom's classic gift -- cash -- which could very well be used for good eco purposes this year.
Random birthday photos are for the readers who've complained I don't have "fun pictures" any more since I moved over to Emerald City....
Wanna know who the people are? Read my friend Summer's post about the night. I've always wanted to be labeled Exhibit A.
The one problem I've run into: I can't remember, because of all the wine, who gave me what. The cards contain no clues. I'm going to have to send out thank you cards -- recycled, of course -- that say "Thank you for the [insert item]!"
All photos by my friends, plus random strangers we asked to take group pictures

Great Party...
I'm a scorpio two... coffee celebration ???

Scorpios rule. We are unfortunately the one sign that's sort of known for its negative attributes, but we'll persevere --
