Talk eco-biz over organic wine: Green Business Networking 10/9

Gbn Missed Green Drinks? Then maybe Green Business Networking'll pique your interest. If you wanna mix business and pleasure with a shot of environmentalism, head over to GBN at the Ambrose Hotel tomorrow night and hash out your ideas for a green revolution over drinks with fellow environmentalists.

GBN's somewhat like Green Drinks, except a lot more -- business-y. First of all, you'll get a nametag. Once in, you'll see people in power suits. You'll see some people actively working the crowd, business cards in hand. In general, you'll see more people who treat GBN as a working event more than a social one.

Gbn1 And like a business event, GBN starts and ends ridiculously early, IMHO. Once 9 pm rolls around, networkers are gently pushed out the door. This, plus the fact that GBN's demographic skews older than other events I go to, has me referring to GBN as Green Drinks for old people.

But I'm joking, sort of. I mean, there are young people there too; I often go and meet up with friends, seeing as the Ambrose is walking distance from my place. And GBN isn't all about green deal-making. After the $10 cover charge at the door, everything's free: organic wine, yummy organic snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks. It is sort of like the all-you-can drink party that could be, if it didn't all end at 9 pm.

Green Business Networking happens on the 2nd Tues. of every month at the eco-friendly Ambrose Hotel, 1255 20th St., Santa Monica . Be extra eco by taking the Big Blue Bus 2 there (exit 20th), or by biking over. For more info, email greenbusinessnetworking@gmail.com.
