Metro public meetings for Westside transit (free) - Santa Monica Public Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica. 6 p.m. Bring the subway to the Westside! Metro will hold public meetings this month to discuss possibly extending the Red or Purple line -- maybe all the way to Santa Monica.
Silver Lake Green Drinks (free, pay for own drinks) - The Good Luck Bar, 1514 Hillhurst Ave., Los Angeles. 7 p.m. Green Drinks has no agenda or theme -- The event's simply composed of the people who attend. All you have to do is show up ready to hang out and meet a few like-minded people over drinks.

Alt Car Expo (free) - Barker Hangar, Santa Monica Air Center, 3021 Airport Ave., Santa Monica. 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Check out all things techy, strange and beautiful in the newish world of green cars -- and outside the car.

Lights Out L.A. (free) - Everywhere in Los Angeles. 8 p.m. Turn out all non-essential lights for an hour and enjoy the starry skies.

El Sereno Food Justice Fair (free) - El Sereno Community Garden, 5454 Huntington Drive, Los Angeles. 11a.m. This free community fair will focus on healthy food, targeting families in the El Sereno area, with healthy lifestyle tips and hands-on workshops.
4th Annual LACBC Bicycle Sundae (free; buy your own ice cream) - Meet at 712 N Heliotrope Drive, Los Angeles. noon. Join LACBC for a free, chilled-out Sunday bicycle tour of delicious local ice cream spots. This year's ride will feature the famed Scoops, Silver Lake's Pazzo Gelato, and Mikawaya mochi in Little Tokyo. ALSO ON SATURDAY: The last public meeting for the CRENSHAW Corrido early scoping.
Yes, it's NOT just Wilshire. Metro is ALSO having meeting to determine a Locally Preferred Alternative for what they're pleased to called the Crenshaw/Prairie corridor, even though it only extends from Wilshire/Western to El Segundo Blvd, at the most.
Anybody who lives or works in the South Bay should show up, hear what they're saying and ask them to EXTEND the corridor/study area all the way south PCH.

How many tortured cows did it take for you to get the ice cream for your Bicycle Sundae. If you're going to go green, why don't you go green humanely....including cows, sheep, chickens...don't they deserve GREEN?
