What's the over/under of Manny staying in the game tonight? =)

Oh, another link of interest to Kemp fans.

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/a-gardner-worth-his-weight/

LAT'd:

What year does Martin become a FA? I thought it was after the 2012 season.

However, the Braves bought out McCann's first year of FA, which appears to be the 2012 season. Martin and McCann's salaries this year are about the same, so I thought they might be on the same service time schedule.

I'm going 7 innings for Manny tonight. Final score 7-2, with Troncoso and Broxton getting work tonight.

Mitch Jones has nowhere else to go. Of course he chose to accept his assignment back to ALBQ.

My prediction is that Manny will leave the game in the bottom of the 8th tonight when Juan Pierre replaces him for defense after 4 ABs.

It time to stop babying Manny. Put him full game please.

Martin, Kemp, Loney, Ethier, Billingsley, are all FAs after 2012.

I really want to see Coletti lock at least Kemp, Billingsley up in the off season.

Also, Clayton Kershaw, but I doubt he'll jump at an long term extension so early.

I'll just say that Manny will not be getting any favors this entire trip whether it be at the plate or on the paths. Be nice Manny, you're bein' tested by the umps now. Let it go man.

Steiner reports that Belisario's MRI showed no structural damage so we will now see if this is just a brief rest for Ronald.

Martin and Loretta ahead of Ethier and Kemp ??

Loretta .OPS 635

Martin .OPS 669

Ethier .OPS .818

Kemp .OPS .846

This should be fun.

I get to watch the first inning or two before getting sucked back into work, and speaking of sucking, Ollie's off to a good start!

I was more expecting Loretta and Ausmus to start tomorrow -- don't they both have some good success vs Livan?

I seem to have three choices. ESPN, a Mets channel and a Dodger feed. But I haven't been able to differentiate the announcers yet. Can anyone enlighten me?

Calm down Psycho. Maybe Manny was just guessing fastball on the first pitch.

Sadly, the Isotopes do not visit the Salt Lake Bees this year. No Mitch Jones for me.

Old Vet!

in play run(s)
love it

Before Hiroki takes the mound for LA -

DODGERS 53-30

The NL Following Five -

SanFrisco . 46-38 . 7 1/2
Saint Louis ..46-39 . 8
Philadelphia . 43-38 . 9
ColoradRocks 45-39 . 8 1/2
MilwaukeeBrew 43-40 .10

...Yes! Sweeet Loretta RBI!

Loretta says, Take that, line-up complainers! ;-)

UD - LOL

Nice, I get to finally watch a game.

Alex Cora, Mets leadoff hitter. That says it all.

I thought tranwreck had gone away with Jrue Holiday and Dominique Johnson.

Hey Delias, what was Phsyco crying about?

Oh Manny.

Manny played that a bit like the Mets leftfielder played ODog's double last night. Fooled him and poor jump. I'm sure Kruk will be right on that.

I have been busy working my cruddy retail job. But I have been off a few days, because I had an accident and broke my face.

About how Manny needed to work Perez and how He has not batted against him in so long and getting in the batters box is different than video blahblah blah for the next 6 pitches.

Wow, Psycho can be so informative.

I'd rather had Jeanie......eh..nevermind.

Hi!
K!...uroda.

that was a sick pitch to the Sheff.

Sheff very quiet in the series so far.
Strike outs galore.

from watching on gameday it looks like the ump has a wide zone tonight. there a few balls called strikes according to gd. does it look like that on tv?

Heart of the order coming up.

Wow, sorry to hear that trainwreck, get well soon.

Sorry to hear about your face, train.

The ump crew owed us that last call. We're even.

Let's go DRE

Still can't fifure out who the announcers are, but the guys on ESPN seem to be better than those on the Dodgers channel(DTV) who are either Mets guys or detestable.

Well my face is healing up fine, it is more of my missing front tooth that is the issue.

I basically pulled off the Hangover by myself.

Whenver I read or hear the word galore, I think of this exchange.

Miracle Max: Wait. Wait. I make him better, Humperdinck suffers?
Inigo Montoya: Humiliations galore!

Darn, another mosquito got me---we have had the wettest june on the East Coast I can remember--topping even last year. I notice the 11 year sunspot cycle seems to be dying, perhaps mirroring the "Maunder minimum" that dominated the first half of the second millenium. This could help batters more than pitchers.

BH - Me too!
Priceless "Hello. My name is Inigo..." speak. :)

C'mon Raffy - Rake it...

trainwreck - that sounds painful, but now you are matching your handle?

El Maniaco defendo!

Manny is 1 for 2 today in the field.

...oops no defendor on that gapper.

Make that 1 for 3 for Manny.

El Lay,

Except my handle is not a reference to that type of train wreck. At least I will have a new tooth in a week or two.

I got real excited this morning when I realized the Dodgers were on pace to win at least 53 games this year.

The Mets have scored and the crowd goes wild.

It's easy to say ex post facto but, with a runner on third, walking a guy who's got a good chance of getting an infield hit might be the best strategy.

That was popup was strike 4.

Oh well, we're get it back soon enough.

Remember that article were Alex Cora was complaining that things got so bad for the Red Sox they had to hit the AL MVP cleanup where he was surrounded by David Ortiz and Jason Bay?

I wonder how he feels today.

Trainwreck,
I can feel your pain, playing third I had a softball bad hop me in the mouth. I couldn't even get a temporary tooth for a couple weeks until the swelling went down.
I did not come out of the game.
That was the last game of my career.

sorry, Jon. Please delete the 1st "was".

C'mon Shake N'...

I love Beardy.

So does that mean that Mitch Jones is a free agent and can leave Albuquerque at any time if a better offer comes along?

Good eye Mark!

Nope, he's re-signed to a minor league contract so someone would have to send the Dodgers some minor fee to get him.

Get your pitch Russ...and crush it.

oooh-oooh. I thought I heard it from the Mets announcers yesterday, and tonight I'm hearing it from several annonucers. The Mets should get Juan Pierre! Well come on, get it done Omar!!

oooh-oooh. I thought I heard it from the Mets announcers yesterday, and tonight I'm hearing it from several annonucers. The Mets should get Juan Pierre! Well come on, get it done Omar!!

I'm walkin' here in NYC...

too many people LOB

Dang it Ethier. Nothing but jabs from the Dodgers

Good pitch down the middle belt high. 'Dre a little unlucky.

Mets pitching sure does like throwing a lot of pitches in the early goings.

This could be a tough game - Kuroda may be sharper than Pรฉrez, but that seems like faint praise at this point.

How soft of an underbelly is the Mets bullpen?

Rick Sutcliffe: Dodgers late season wins and victory over the Cubs are all tainted because of Manny. At least LA has Juan Pierre. Good grief.

...seeing eye single. We get our share, too.

Rick Sutcliffe needs to be visited by the ghost of J.C. Romero.

What? Is Kuroda trying to match Pรฉrez's pitch count?

Dear Rick Sutcliffe,

How many NY Yankee regular-season and playoff wins are tainted thanks to ARod, Giambi, Pettitte, and Clemens?

We know you hate Lasorda, and by extension the Dodgers. Now, close the piehole.

Thank you,

El Lay Dave

I'll take one ol' fashion doublle play Hiroki...

Wow, glad I'm not working in the Valley and living in the South Bay anymore.

Oh there it is...

and there it goes...to left. : (

So Chad says that M. Sweeney is serving as hitting coach for the pitchers. I guess he needs to do something, but don't recall him knowing how to bunt. remeber late last year when we calculated that the pitchers were collectvely hitting better than him?

I see what UZR says about Blake going to his left now. That's two plays this inning any MLB third baseman makes, and he didn't even touch the one Wright hit.

Unfortunately, that was Shakey Blake on that play.

LOL, El Lay

Well, obviously I shouldn't say "any" because Blake is an MLB third baseman.

Hey! The Giants lost today. : )

a perfect storm of ground balls. Castillo, wright, the last two hitters. Hiroki is getting the gounders, but is really unlucky right now. It also doesnt help that Casey Blake is pretty much a immobile out there.

The one game I get to watch and this happens. I'm glad it's still early at least.

And people said I should take my head out of a spreadsheet...shows what they know.

Shakey Blake and Stinky Hiroki.

Manny with the nonchalant catch...

Ok get 'em back

1 at a time Blue.

As long as Perez comes back out to pitch, the Dodgers are in decent shape. .

Perez with about 70 pitches thru 3...

Briefly thought I could watch as I went to ESPN's web page, where the game is streaming, but none of their services is available in Buenos Aires. I'll go out to dinner after this inning, and expect a lead when I get back.

Bison...
just missed

We can hit those too.

Oliver twisin' now...

Raffioli!

Or maybe we'll see that lead before I go out to dinner.

Age finally caught up with Sheff, he had a cannon.

Poor break for the O-Dog.

But we got.....1
