Willie Davis, Dodgers (vs. Mets), May 24, 1973, 19 innings
Gene Richards, Padres (vs. Expos), July 26, 1977, 15 innings
Garret Anderson, Angels (at Rangers), September 27, 1996, 15 innings
Paul Lo Duca, Dodgers (vs. Rockies - I was there), May 28, 2001, 11 innings
Shawn Green, Dodgers (vs. Brewers - four-homer day), May 23, 2002, 9 innings

Did I miss anyone?

1. Tony Gwynn v. Giants, August 4, 1993. 9 innings, I think.

7. 2 Nice, but your report is for AB=6 AND H=6. If you don't limit the AB, you get more results. I don't subscribe so I only get the first match (I sorted by AB), and the first listed was a 1981 game where Jerry Remy went 6 for 10 in a 20-inning Red Sox loss.

Man, Bob, I had already corrected myself a full six seconds before you corrected me. Crimminy, would you let it drop already?
Sheesh!

11. To continue from the last thread about the computer stuff...
My IE has been riddled with spyware for a while now which caused me to switch to Firefox. Though I have no complaints, I was hoping to get rid of whatever is still in my system. I run Ad-Aware and Spybot all the time, but never realized that you're supposed to do it in Safe Mode. So, I tried rebooting in safe mode, but apparently my computer won't let me. F8 does nothing, but when I press F12 it gives me a boot menu. Unfortunately, none of the boot options mention safe mode. Anybody know what's going on here?

12. Nate must love Bon Jovi. Or Mother Teresa, I guess.

13. 11- Sounds like your entering the BIOS menu. You have to wait for the Power-On Start Test to finish before trying to get the safe-mode menu. There should be some kind of title screen at boot with the logo of your computer's, or motherboard's, manufacturer. Once that goes off, start tapping the F8 key.

14. Power On Self Test, even.

15. okay im back. my computer has gotten alot healthier but its still infected i think. the trend micro wouldnt run in safe mode but the spybot search and destroy did pretty well. It wasnt able to get rid of one though for some reason.
does anyone know how to unistall internet explorer.

I was trying for six seconds to match the six hits.

17. my firefox closes every time i try to open up a video from mlb.com. i assume this is connected to my computer still being infected.

18. Did it tell you what it couldn't uninstall? Often you can google the name and find manual uninstall instructions. Lots of malware is written cleverly enough to notice that it's been deleted and reinstall itself, so, sometimes you have to hand delete registry keys, and hidden folders.
Uninstalling IE is, if I remember correctly, as easy as (you're running XP, right?) opening Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs>Add or Remove Windows Components and unchecking the box next to Internet Explorer.

19. Poking around a bit, as I ought to have done before, it looks like that doesn't really work. You didn't ask whether removing IE is a good idea, but it probably should be pointed out that it's really not. You can disable it, somewhat, as described here.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/browsers/ht/disableiedef.htm
If you do it, make sure to set Windows to auto-update.

20. It's been awhile, but I think you need to have some form of IE on your computer for Windows to be operable. Didn't someone take Microsoft to court for that?

21. Shawn Green hit 4 homers and totaled 6 hits in one game! I'm just in shock, based on the disdain he gets I thought all he did was hit grounders to 2nd base the whole time he was a Dodger.

22. based on the disdain he gets I thought all he did was hit grounders to 2nd base the whole time he was a Dodger
And then he stole an illegal $16 million/year contract from the Dodgers behind their collective backs, and then had the audacity to demand that fan-favorite GM Paul DePodesta trade him to Arizona.

Maybe you've never been to Dodger stadium when he's announced.

27. Shawn Green was my boy's Dodgers hero back then. We would play catch at the park, and I would tell him -- you could have caught that ball if you dove. His reply: But Shawn Green doesn't dive. True story.

28. Bulletin. I was just in the car listening to NY sports talk radio. Everyone including Mets fans was appalled by the campain Sp? at Shea to send Laducca to the All-star game. Apparently they made announcements every half inning. People said it felt like a small market play, when several Mets are going anyway.
So lets continue our shameless boosting of Russell Martin, who one of the NY announcers said he felt like voting for.

29. I think it's kinda weird that Tiger and Elin named their daughter "Sam", rather than naming her "Samantha" and planning to call her "Sam" for short.

30. Nate, quite often spyware sets itself up to reinstall every time you boot. Go into Regedit and look in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion and click on the Run folder. That lists every program that starts when Windows boots. Legitimate programs will be in there, but there may be some suspicious things too. Google the program or applet name and see if it takes you to a spyware discussion page. Delete any thing you think is suspicious and restart. Of course, make a copy of your registry before you do any of that. You can do that under the File menu, select export.

i remember that day like it was yesterday, i specially remember how Ross Porter nearly lossed his voice in utter shock that shawn Green had hit 4 dingers, great game & i miss Ross. i was in full blown happy over load the rest of the day.

32. Inside the Dodgers on MLB.com has completely spun out of control. I understand some level of frustration, but it seems like there are a lot (too many) of very bitter Dodger fans these days. Or maybe a few loud ones.... ??

It happens.
New post up top.

34. I think the reason there are so many bitter Dodger fans is because they still don't understand why Ross Porter was fired.
I wish he were still here too - maybe we could start a campaign to bring him back. I miss him.

35. 20- That was the contention, and it's somewhat true. I thought I'd remembered that as a part of their settlement, they'd folded, and complied with requests to make it easy to get rid of, at the user's peril. I misremembered.
There's an Australian who put together a software package that deletes most of IE (and other things), leaving behind some of the dynamic link libraries so that operation isn't totally destroyed. I've never used it, or heard of it before yesterday, but any chance I get to stick it to the man by paying money to delete free software, well, I call that a bargain.
The best I ever had.

36. So, my buddy who works for the Braves Radio Network just called me wishing that the Dodgers would send Billingsly and Hendrickson to the Braves for Andruw. Any thoughts from y'all?

37. I read threads like this one and people wonder why I spend so much time doing stuff like this:
http://6-4-2.blogspot.com/2007/03/tech-making-linux-work-with-gameday.html
I'd rather take an hour or so once each major revision of Fedora (if that) to make MLBAM products play nice with Linux than spend several days every few months trying to salvage a virus-infested hard drive, and paying for anti-virus software that may or may not work.

38. I was wondering when somebody would say, "Buy a Mac!" Scareduck is even edgier than that! I've messed with Linux, but only in dual boots, that I ended up nearly never using. It doesn't play nicely with my built-in wlan. I know it isn't Linux's fault, but it's not my fault either. And there are still sites that, while backward and worthy of shunning, are still necessary that don't dig nonIE browsers.
But, when the revolution comes, oh, that'll be something.

39. 38 - I have two Macbook Pro's at home (one for me, one for the wife), a Linux box as my primary desktop, and my wife has a pair of Macs, an old G3 running OS 9 and one of the last generation of PowerPC desktops running OS X. The only Wintel box we have in the house is a dedicated synth for running one of her sound library apps, but even that doesn't get much utilization, since the newer software can run pretty much concurrently on well-equipped Macs. (Helen's laptop runs a Windows emulator for a gym application she uses, but it doesn't do dual-boot via BootCamp or any other.)
None of them have viruses.
This is not a coincidence.

40. Oh, yeah, and my work desktop is Fedora Core 6, as is my home box.
