Izturis Signs for Three Years

Contract terms for Cesar Izturis, courtesy of Ken Gurnick at MLB.com:

Guarantees ($9.9 million)
2005: $2.35 million ($2.05 million in salary, $300,000 signing bonus)
2006: $3.1 million
2007: $4.15 million
2008: $300,000 (if team buys out the contract)

Possibles ($6.15 million)
2005: $150,000 (incentive clause for Gold Glove)
2006: $150,000 (incentive clause for Gold Glove)
2007: $150,000 (incentive clause for Gold Glove)
2008: $5.7 million (5.55 million team option on top of buyout, $150,000 incentive clause for Gold Glove)

Just for comparison, Omar Vizquel is guaranteed $12.25 million from San Francisco over the next three years. Vizquel turns 38 in April and is losing range in the field, as well as whatever offensive advantage he had over Izturis.
