McCourt hasn't told Colletti not to pursue free agents

Nothing has changed in the Dodgers' baseball operations department -- so far.

While General Manager Ned Colletti has spoken with Frank McCourt on almost a daily basis over the last week, he is yet to be told by the departing owner that the team's impending sale would prevent him from pursuing free agents of Prince Fielder's caliber, according to a person familiar with the situation who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The Dodgers have reached out to more than a dozen free agents and have exchanged offers with several of them, the person said. The team is looking to add a few infielders, a catcher and a starting pitcher this winter.

Catcher Rod Barajas, whom the Dodgers were interested in retaining, signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday.
