Almost quietly, the Dodgers have been playing better of late. They entered Sunday’s game 10-5 in their last 15 games.

And with the Giants struggling, the Dodgers’ 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday pulled them within an at least more respectable nine games of San Francisco.

Still hope for the season?

Not really. In the streak, the Dodgers have won at a .667 clip. To get to 90 wins -- and that wasn’t enough for the Padres to make the playoffs last season -- the Dodgers would have to go 38-12 the rest of the way.

That’s a stunning .760 winning percentage. Currently only one team in the National League -- the Phillies -- have a winning percentage over .600.
