Justin Sellers, released by the Chicago Cubs two years ago, has made it to the majors.

The Dodgers called up Sellers from triple-A Albuquerque prior to Friday’s game against the Houston Astros and officially placed shortstop Dee Gordon on the 15-day disabled list.

Sellers, a former Huntington Beach Marina High and Cal State Fullerton star, was hitting .304 for the Isotopes with 14 home runs and 49 RBIs.

Sellers, 25, is scheduled to start at shortstop and bat eighth Friday against the Astros.

[UPDATE: Sellers said he was excited to step on the same field where he watched former Dodgers Mike Piazza and Eric Karros play as a youngster.

‘This is a dream come true,’ Sellers said. ‘It’s amazing.’

Sellers said he had 10 tickets, ‘but I should have 100. My family’s coming and they’re just as excited as I am.’]
