When Steve Sax looked 'marvelous' and Vin Scully danced to it (video)

July 25, 2011 |  4:25 pm

Kudos to Roberto Baly of Vin Scully Is My Homeboy for uncovering this hilarious video of Steve Sax.

Given the blandness of today’s clubhouses, sometimes it’s easy to forget all the wacky personalities that used to inhibit the Dodgers roster.

But of all the characters that stopped off -- Jay Johnstone, Jerry Reuss, Rick Dempsey, Mickey Hatcher, even Fernando Valenzuela -- none may have been as genuinely entertaining and talented as Sax.

In this 1985 video, Sax parodies Billy Crystal (who was parodying Fernando Llamas) in his "You Look Marvelous," wearing a wig and lip synching to the novelty song.

It actually includes a dancing Vin Scully in the Dodger Stadium press box.

And here is the original Crystal video, which includes a cameo from Sting.
