If Frank and Jamie McCourt fail to agree on a divorce settlement by 8:30 a.m. Friday morning, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon said he would declare the talks at an impasse.

Gordon initially declared an impasse late Thursday afternoon, when the attorney for Frank McCourt said his client had agreed to a deal and the attorney for Jamie McCourt said there was no deal.

After a brief meeting with the attorneys for both sides, Gordon agreed to withhold the declaration of impasse until 8:30 a.m. Friday, giving the parties one last chance to settle overnight.

‘I think we are close,’ said Dennis Wasser, the attorney for Jamie. ‘Hopefully, we can get it done tonight.’
