Andre Ethier, the hitting machine, continues.

Ethier wasted no time in extending his hitting streak against the Marlins on Tuesday, doubling in a run in the first inning in Florida.

The hit pushed his career-high hitting streak to 23 games.

It also broke the slightly odd record for longest hitting streak in the month of April. He had matched his former manager, Joe Torre, at 22 on Monday.

Torre put his hitting streak together in 1971, the year he went on to become the National League most valuable player.

It’s also the longest hitting streak for a Dodger since Paul Lo Duca put together a 25-game hitting streak in 2003.
