Dodgers closer Jonathan Broxton worked a scoreless inning Sunday in a Cactus League game that a Dodgers split squad played against the Chicago White Sox, a rebound from the pitcher’s rough outing in his previous appearance.

Broxton, entering the game in the eighth inning at the Camelback Ranch spring-training facility shared by the two teams, started by walking Adam Dunn. But the right-hander then got Dallas McPherson to hit into a double play and Carlos Quentin grounded out.

The Dodgers are keeping a close eye on Broxton after he slumped badly in the latter half of 2010, and his prior spring-training appearance had resurrected those concerns.

In a game against the San Diego Padres on Thursday, Broxton gave up three hits, four earned runs and a walk, and he hit a batter.
