Vicente Padilla returns to Los Angeles for MRI exam

Uh-oh.

Only a week removed from the day their pitchers and catchers worked out for the first time, the Dodgers sent Vicente Padilla back to Los Angeles so he could undergo an MRI exam on his right elbow.

The Dodgers’ opening-day starter last season, Padilla was re-signed to add depth to the pitching staff. He was expected to start the season as a swingman and was thought of as someone who could step into the rotation or closer's role if needed.

The pain Padilla is experiencing is similar to the pain he felt when he missed nearly two months with nerve problems in his arm early last season, according to a club spokesman.

Padilla was examined by Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Monday. Results of the MRI exam are expected to be known by Wednesday.

no surprise. first of many. you get what you pay for and not even Lord of the Lies frank mccourt can ever change that.

I'm sure Frank's happy, what with V-incentive Padilla's contract probably in no danger of reaching any.

Wow, would have thought that Garland would have blown out first... Anyway, put your seatbelts on for Elymania II (here's hoping it's a minor bump in the road for VPads)

Well that didn't take long . . . who's next, Kuo?

I see a Sergio Leone remake in the offing 2011 -

'The good' - we'll have Broxton (27) for many more years, Belisario is only 29 and Ely just 25.

'The bad' - Padilla 34, Kuo 30, Kuroda 36, Lilly 35, Garland 32, Guerrier 33, Mahay 40.

'and the ugly' - Billingsley & Kershaw become FA's that signpost just up ahead, dudgers next stop - the 'Twilight Zone'.

Send in the clowns?

Don't bother, they're here.

This makes the structure of his contract look great. Cant play? Cant get paid.

And then there were five.....

Dear Ned-

Two things:

1. Sign Kevin Millwood now.
2. Send me my World Series tickets.

Thanks Dude.

padilla has shown himself to be injury-prone throughout his entire career. it's amazing that ned re-signed him after the DL-plagued year he had for us last year. i don't get how being pretty good for 2 months and basically hurt or ineffective for the other 4 translates into a multi-million dollar contract for the next year. i wonder if ned would make the same deals if he was spending his own money and not frank's (oops, fox's)?

Not surprising for a broken-down team with few exceptions. This is only just the beginning. The Dodger formula to win:

Two good months, out with injury for 3 months, and bad performance for two months = mediocrity.

Season hasn't even started and things already looking shaky. What will it look like in August?

Well I guess things have officially started now for the Dodgers as Padilla's arm is bothering him. The positive vibes have been shaken.

Another No Head Ned signing on behalf of McCrap. Padilla is just the start of this train wreck waiting to happen.

I am flabbergasted at Ned Coletti getting caught with his pants down---AGAIN!
