Vicente Padilla could start throwing within a month

Optimistic about the way Vicente Padilla came out of surgery on Thursday, the Dodgers medical staff estimated that the long reliever could start throwing in three to four weeks.

"Sounds like it went well," Manager Don Mattingly said.

Padilla will return to Arizona on Friday.

I still waiting to hear we had surgery performed to remove a festering Frank & Ned.

"Optimistic about the way Vicente Padilla came out of surgery"

- also optimism when paDiLla underwent a physical after re-signing this off-season and the arm nerve had “calmed down”...

Did you ever hear of an sports operation that wasn't successful? Does successful mean the patient didn't die, have his arm fall off or that he is as good as new and will be guaranteed to have no more problems?

By not expecting Padilla to pitch again this season, anything he does will - to me and my outlook - either be a surprising detriment to the club or a surprising help to the club.

Agree with StanL - let's get that daffynition of "successful" cleared up from the Dodgers medical staff who are employed by ____.
