Source: Angels asked Dodgers about Manny Ramirez
The Angels, in search of a big bat to prop up a struggling offense, asked the Dodgers about Manny Ramirez, according to a baseball source.
The Chicago White Sox and Tampa Bay Rays also inquired about Ramirez, the source said.
It is not certain when the Angels made their inquiry or whether the parameters of a trade were discussed. After the Angels were swept by the Boston Red Sox earlier this week, General Manager Tony Reagins acknowledged he might consider selling veterans rather than acquiring them.
The Angels tend to shy away from rental players, and Ramirez will be a free agent at the end of the season, but the carrot of a new contract might have persuaded the Angels to consider whether he would be on his best behavior.

Interesting to say the least. Lately, with the aquisition of Podsednik, and the way thinking may have been going on, I was to believe that Manny may just be a good fitting piece for the A.L. Dude can barely run, cannot bend over without falling, so why not just stand there and rake? How fitting it would be for him to end up an Angel! Goodbye Manny, it was nice knowing you.
