Opening day starter Vicente Padilla was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday because of soreness in his forearm.

Manager Joe Torre said the Dodgers planned to recall reliever Jon Link from triple-A Albuquerque to replace Padilla on the active roster. However, Torre said he still didn’t know who would take Padilla’s place in the rotation.

Padilla said his arm started to bother him in the fifth inning of his last start, which was on Thursday in Cincinnati.

Padilla, who will undergo an MRI exam on Monday in New York, said he didn’t know what to make of the injury.

‘The truth is that I I don’t know,’ he said. ‘I took an X-ray today and it showed nothing.’
