A tight hamstring sidelined Rafael Furcal for the second game of the Dodgers’ doubleheader against the New York Mets on Tuesday.

Manager Joe Torre said Furcal felt something as he ran down the first-base line on a double play ground out in the seventh inning of the Dodgers’ 4-0 loss in the early game. Furcal played the remainder of the game but said he was doubtful for the series finale at Citi Field on Wednesday.

“He said he didn’t feel anything tear,” Torre said. “It just felt tight.”

Torre said he was leaning toward resting Furcal in the second game of the doubleheader even before he was hurt.
