Even though Manny Ramirez is playing on the road and boos are to be expected from the opposing fans, it’s fair to say from his first two at-bats tonight that he’s still a villain of sorts.

Both times he has walked to the batter’s box, the mostly packed crowd at Angel Stadium has rained deafening boos down on him, whereas the other Dodgers players have been treated cordially, if not welcomed.

Maybe he hasn’t been forgiven following his 50-game suspension for violating baseball’s drug policy.

Then again, maybe his welcome is worn out after he said this spring training that this season would be his last in Dodger blue.Either way, with the Dodgers leading 2-0 going into the fourth inning, it’s clear that the fans aren’t likely to invite him out for a beer after the game.
