Well, at least they scored this time.

The Dodgers ended their scoreless streak at 21 innings in the second game of their doubleheader on Tuesday, but nonetheless fell, 10-5, to the New York Mets at Citi Field. The Dodgers also lost the first game, 4-0.

The Dodgers scored three runs in the fourth inning, which started with Andre Ethier drawing a walk and Matt Kemp singling to left. The rally made up for the three runs knuckleballer Charlie Haeger gave up in the first inning and tied the game, 3-3.

But it was in that inning that the Dodgers’ frustrations erupted, as James Loney was thrown out of the game for arguing balls and strikes.

The usually mild-mannered Loney was surprisingly animated when he took a questionable called third strike with the bases loaded to end the inning, tossing his helmet and getting in the face of home plate umpire Angel Campos.

Loney had to be restrained by coaches Larry Bowa and Mariano Duncan. He appeared to be thrown out of the game for throwing his gloves in the direction of home plate as he walked toward the Dodgers’ dugout.

The Mets scored three runs in the fifth inning and four more in the sixth, pounding the Dodgers middle relievers Ramon Troncoso, Jon Link and George Sherrill. All three of those pitchers were also used in the first game of the doubleheader.

For Troncoso, the appearance was his 14th, the most ever by a Dodger pitcher in the first 20 games of the season.
