Ooh, that hurt. That really hurt. Dodgers right-hander Vicente Padilla said Sunday that when he was accidentally shot in the right thigh in November, the bullet actually went completely through his leg.

Padilla said he was in his native Nicaragua at a shooting range when his gun jammed. He said his friend was trying to fix it when the gun accidentally went off and a single bullet went cleanly through his leg.

‘I lost a lot of blood,’ Padilla said.

Padilla said his leg was completely healed and he was running again within 15 days. Dodgers General Manager Ned Colletti said he was aware of the extent of the injury.

‘My friend drove me to the hospital,’ Padilla said. ‘I was bleeding all over his car.’

Also Sunday, Blake DeWitt, who is trying to win the job of starting second baseman, arrived in camp.
