Dodgers pitchers and catchers report to camp

Some quick Dodgers’ Web doings:

-- Here’s a dead-on quote from General Manager Ned Colletti on the importance of the team’s need for its young, and now well-paid, core to bring it to another level this season, from Dylan Hernandez’s Dodgers preview here in The Times:

"As you gain more experience in this game, your salary increases, as well as your responsibilities," Colletti said. "Our focus on winning increases. With that comes leadership opportunities.

"You can talk about it as much as you want, but at the end of the day, it's up to them. It's up to them how much they want to be great."

-- USA Today takes the capsule approach to its Dodgers preview.

Sadly, in a sign of the times, no other area newspaper ran a team preview as the Dodgers’ pitchers and catchers reported to spring training Saturday.
