Obama places wreath to honor veterans
President Obama arrived at Arlington National Cemetery this morning and placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns, part of the commemoration of Veterans Day.
The president arrived at 10:39 a.m. A few war protesters were at the entrance.
On a rainy day, Obama honored those who had fallen and those currently serving. He placed the wreath, which was on a stand, and then stood silently for several moments. A bugler sounded taps.
Later, Obama will meet with military and national security officials to discuss the war in Afghanistan.

why doesn't obama take some tangible steps toward change like stopping torture, rendition and these illegal wars? instead, he wants to send 40,000 more troops into the afghani wasteland? it seems to me the height of hypocrisy for our leaders to pay tribute to our brave fallen veterans when they are the ones consistently sending our sons and daughters off to die for our modern colonial efforts. disgusting
