Food FYI: Burger King pledges cage-free eggs and pork

CAGE-FREE AT BURGER KING 

Burger King says all of its eggs and pork will come from cage-free chickens and pigs by 2017, reports The Times, as more fast food giants adopt changes that impact animal welfare practices. 

ON 'GIRLS'

The New York Observer recaps "bad boy chef" Eddie Huang's critique, both "sensationalist" and "astute," of the new HBO show "Girls." Here's a tidbit: "The show is ill in the fact that it captures how brutally unbearable privileged white women are but it's way too self-aware and indulgent in the fact that they are applying old archetypes and Tupperware party social dynamics to the free clinic."
