No doubt about it, Alice Waters is all about the produce. And there’s little doubt that some of the most gorgeous fruits and vegetables in California are grown at Chino Farm, an old family farm surrounded by million-dollar homes in Rancho Santa Fe. Waters has been buying from the farm for her Chez Panisse restaurant in Berkeley for years, often crediting it by name on the menu. Sunday, she’ll be making an appearance at the farm to sign her new book, ’40 Years of Chez Panisse.’

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., but get there early: Last month’s signing with Nancy Silverton attracted more than 300 people.
