Farmshop + Ruhlman: A family-style dinner and signed books

Farmshop plans to host a four-course, family-style dinner on Dec. 1 with a menu created by chef Jeff Cerciello and author Michael Ruhlman to celebrate the launch of his new book, "Ruhlman’s Twenty: 20 Techniques; 100 Recipes; A Cook's Manifesto."

Ruhlman, also co-author of books with chefs Thomas Keller and Eric Ripert, covers 20 essential building blocks of cooking in "Ruhlman's Twenty." Chapters mine the depths of salting, water, onions and acid, among other topics, with recipes -- such as mac 'n' cheese with soubise, Brussels sprouts in spicy bacon fat, French onion soup and roasted chicken.

The cost for the dinner is $75 per person and includes a signed copy of the book. Call for reservations.
