Tasting Table is paying homage to classic restaurants across the country through Dinner Tales, a culinary event happening in five cities on Dec. 13, and Providence has been picked for the Los Angeles event.

In 2005, chef Michael Cimarusti left Water Grill to open a restaurant in Patina’s old space on Melrose Avenue with partner Donato Poto. Since its opening, the highly regarded restaurant has kept crowds coming back for more with its seafood-driven menu.

The Dec. 13 event will revisit the restaurant’s most memorable dishes with canapés, some bubbly, a five-course meal and wine pairings. Dishes will include sea urchin with soft scrambled eggs as well as a Japanese sword squid with pig’s ear. Tickets are $225 per person and can be purchased online.

5955 Melrose Ave., L.A., (323) 460-4170, providencela.com.
