Descanso Gardens' Oktoberfest, with beer classes and yodeling DJ

Fall colors at Descanso Gardens, which is celebrating Oktoberfest

Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge is celebrating Oktoberfest with a beer-centric event on Saturday. The day is scheduled to begin with lessons in how to grow a beer garden ($15 non-members/ $10 members). Plans also call for a course on how to brew your own beer at home ($25 non-members/ $20 members). Prior registration is needed to attend the classes. To reserve your spot, call (818) 949-7980.

At 3 p.m. the party begins in the biergarten with sizzling sausages and German beer from Patina Catering. Entertainment will be provided by Autobahn, a German DJ and professional yodeler.  Entrance to the biergarten is free with Descanso Garden admission. Prices for beers start at $6, and brats begin at $6.50. No reservation is required for this event.
