The Golden Gopher Bar is special for a lot of reasons, one of which is its nook of ‘liquor to go.’ Its 1905 liquor license allows the bar to serve alcohol as well as sell patrons bottles to take home with them.

The Beer Chicks (a.k.a. Christina Perozzi and Hallie Beaune) have recently revamped the Golden Gopher’s beer selection by adding a slew of craft beers to the menu. On Saturday at L.A.’s Craft Beer Crawl, the Chicks premiered the bar’s new venture, the 8th Street Bottle Shop, selling solely craft brews to go.

The shop carries 101 different beers including limited-edition bottles from breweries such as Telegraph, Stone, Deschutes and more. In the near future, they are planning to offer artisanal snacks and a beer club membership.
